As an independent practice, we carry hearing aids from all six of the world's leading manufacturers — Phonak, Oticon, GN ReSound, Signia, Widex, and Unitron — and can recommend the technology that is genuinely the right fit for you.
We also provide ongoing care that is not tied to a single device purchase. Whether you need adjustments, reprogramming, troubleshooting, or a new evaluation years down the road, we are your long-term hearing care partner.

Individual Hearing Aid Programming
Your hearing aids are programmed specifically to your audiogram using manufacturer fitting software. Initial programming targets are calculated from your hearing test results, giving us a precise starting point before verification.
Real-Ear Measurement & Verification
We verify that your hearing aids are actually delivering the right amount of amplification in your individual ear using real-ear measurement (REM). A small probe microphone measures the sound level at your eardrum while you wear the hearing aids. This step is essential — manufacturer first-fit settings alone are not sufficient to ensure accurate amplification.
Orientation & Counseling
We walk you through how to use, care for, and maintain your hearing aids. We discuss realistic expectations, the adjustment period, and strategies for getting the most out of your new hearing. Family members are welcome to join this appointment.
Follow-Up Adjustments

Why Real-Ear Measurement Matters
Real-ear measurement (REM) — also called probe microphone measurement — is the gold standard for verifying that hearing aids are delivering the right amount of amplification for your individual ear. It is one of the most important things we do, and one of the most commonly skipped steps in the hearing aid industry.
Every ear canal is a different shape and size. That difference has a significant effect on how sound is amplified at the eardrum. Two people with identical audiograms can require meaningfully different hearing aid settings because of the acoustic differences in their ear canals.
Manufacturer first-fit settings are calculated from average ear canal data. For many patients, those averages are a reasonable starting point — but they are not a substitute for measuring what is actually happening in your ear. Studies consistently show that first-fit settings frequently under-amplify or over-amplify specific frequencies, particularly in the high frequencies that are critical for speech understanding.
During real-ear measurement, a thin probe microphone is placed in your ear canal alongside your hearing aid. We play calibrated test signals and measure the sound level at your eardrum in real time. We then compare those measurements to prescriptive targets — the amplification levels that research shows are optimal for your degree of hearing loss — and adjust your hearing aid programming until the measurements match.
The result is hearing aids that are verified to be delivering the right amount of sound — not just programmed to a formula. Patients who receive real-ear measurement verification consistently report better outcomes and higher satisfaction with their hearing aids.
